Missing the conversations that festival based harm reduction work brings into her life, Staysee Marie started this series as a way to stay connected with community and causes during the pandemic.
Staysee Marie has been the Harm Reduction Director at Bass Coast since 2012.
This show is primarily in interview format, with a new guest joining every week, covering a range of topics from cultural safety to risk reduction, to consent, and so many other conversations under the umbrella of safety! The show is intended to be a virtual festival sanctuary space, where listeners can connect with information and supports, learn some new things about self and community care, and even catch a little bit of music!

About the host:
Stacey is co-founder & education director of Good Night Out Vancouver, a non-profit society focused on reducing sexual violence in music & nightlife, with a focus on electronic music spaces and festivals. Good Night Out works with artists, venues, promoters, & patrons to build the capacity to prevent & respond to sexual harassment and assault.
For the last 10 years Staysee Marie has directed the Harm Reduction program for Bass Coast Music Festival. This includes training over 100 volunteers every year, running a 24 hour education and sanctuary space, and implementing drug testing services, including the use of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) technology. The harm reduction program at Bass Coast is renowned across North America for its progressive approach to harm reduction.
Staysee Marie records and produces Sanctuary Radio on both the occupied and unceded ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skxwú7mesh and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ people, as well as the traditional territories of the Hupacasth First Nation.
